Blythewood Bee Company

Category: Equipment Also called: BBC; Swarm Commander (Blythewood Bee Company brand); blythewoodbeecompany.com Last checked: 2026-10-01

What it is

Blythewood Bee Company is a first-party U.S. beekeeping-supply shop based in Blythewood, South Carolina. Its official site and shop (blythewoodbeecompany.com) sell Langstroth woodenware and hive kits (10-frame / 8-frame / 5-frame), assembled boxes and frames, foundation, protective clothing, tools, extraction gear, live bees and queens, and the company’s own Swarm Commander swarm-lure and protective-gear line. Official About copy states: “Blythewood Bee Company is a major supplier of beekeeping supplies and products for the beekeeping industry. We ship to all states… We are located in Blythewood, South Carolina.” Site marquee and brand pages print a Veteran Founded claim; the related Swarm Commander About page describes founder Scott’s Navy / Desert Storm background and the Swarm Commander brand. This listing is for the first-party supply shop with an official catalog URL and citeable kit/woodenware prices, not a honey-only gift shop and not a county club.

Who it’s for

Hobby and sideline beekeepers who want factory-shipped Langstroth kits and woodenware, Swarm Commander lures and gear, and other hive supplies ordered from blythewoodbeecompany.com, and buyers who can visit or call the Blythewood retail address. Kits print beginner starter, brood-chamber, honey-super, and deluxe expansion options. Not a membership club hall and not a university course.

Why it’s listed

This is a first-party Equipment operation. It prints a Blythewood street address with phone, hours, and email; ships nationwide per About copy; manufactures / brands the Swarm Commander line; and runs an official Shopify catalog with on-page dollar prices for brood kits, starter kits, and woodenware SKUs. It is not a scraped directory card, not Amazon, and not an affiliate storefront.

Notes

• Category is Equipment. Blythewood Bee Company is a first-party beekeeping-supply shop with an official catalog URL, printed Blythewood SC contact block, and citeable kit/woodenware prices. It is not a honey-only apiary, not a Local club, and not a Learning pathway. It is distinct from the Equipment shops already listed (Dadant, Mann Lake, Betterbee, GloryBee, Foxhound, Acorn Pierco, Rossman, HillCo, Blue Sky Bee Supply, Beeline Woodenware, Beez Needz, Premier Bee Products). Swarm Commander is Blythewood’s own brand line; the shop also carries woodenware and other hive gear under the Blythewood Bee Company storefront.
• The kit and woodenware prices, Blythewood address and phone, seasonal hour blocks, About supplier copy, and Swarm Commander founder/brand claim are transcribed from official blythewoodbeecompany.com and swarmcommander.com pages checked on 2026-10-01 and may change. Seasonal hour labels (Spring/Summer starting Feb 24, 2026 vs Winter/Fall starting July 28, 2025) overlap on the Contact page—cite the live block, do not invent a single reconciled calendar. No purchase was made from Beekeeping Plaza.
• First-party logo saved beside this listing as blythewood-bee-company.png (from the official Shopify header asset blythewood-bee-company-logo.png, unedited).
• Not affiliated with Beekeeping Plaza.
