What it is

The Brown County Beekeepers Association (BCBA) is a local beekeeping club for Green Bay and Northeast Wisconsin. Its home page says the club is dedicated to promoting sustainable, responsible and healthy beekeeping practices for both experienced and first-time beekeepers, and that membership is open to anyone interested in beekeeping, whether or not they live in Brown County. Meetings are on the third Wednesday of each month at 6:30 pm at Green Bay Botanical Garden in Green Bay, except July and December. Members get monthly meetings with education sessions, a monthly electronic newsletter, low-cost rental of club equipment, education reimbursement and a discount on the American Bee Journal. This listing is for the local club, not a supply store or a single course. (It is not the Barnstable County Beekeepers Association in Massachusetts, which also uses “BCBA.”)

FAQ

Q: When and where does the club meet?
A: Per the home, Join and FAQ pages checked 2026-10-29: the third Wednesday of each month at 6:30 pm at Green Bay Botanical Garden, Green Bay, WI, with no meeting in July or December. The FAQ says meeting nights and locations change from time to time and to check the site’s Events listings. By that rule the next meeting would be Wednesday, November 18, 2026 (calculated, not printed on the site). Some meetings start with an hour-early hands-on “Meeting before Meeting” (MbM).

Q: How much is membership?
A: The Join page lists annual dues of $20.00 for an individual and $30.00 for a family. Joining after August 1 is half price (done at a meeting), and membership is free for youth-group members under 18 (also done at a meeting).

Q: How do I join?
A: Online through the Join page (PayPal checkout; a PayPal account is not required), or by mailing the printed membership application with a check to Brown County Beekeepers Association, PO Box 10371, Green Bay, WI 54307-0371.

Q: Does the club teach beginners?
A: Yes. The club runs an Introduction to Beekeeping class. The class page checked 2026-10-29 still shows the 2026 session (January 17, 2026 in person at NWTC’s Great Lakes Energy Education Center plus a May 16, 2026 hive day; $50 individual, $40 additional family members); 2027 dates were not posted yet.

Q: Is this an official or affiliated listing?
A: Neither. Beekeeping Plaza is not affiliated with the Brown County Beekeepers Association. No contact, form or membership signup was made. This is the site’s first Wisconsin Local clubs listing (Wisconsin already has Equipment and Learning entries).
